group of doctorsCommunity Medical Center offers an unparalleled exposure to a wide variety of ailments and injuries and we are confident that you will have a great time learning the art and practice of Emergency Medicine in both the ED and through our didactic program.

Community Medical Center accepts applications for medical students to complete rotations in Emergency Medicine. Applications must be completed and submitted with supporting documentation to armstronglisak@gmail.com. Student rotations are approved based on the rotation(s) requested and whether the program’s master schedule can accommodate the request.

Emergency Department Highlights

  • Expected to begin a 3 year Emergency Medicine Residency Program in 2021
  • Students will provide direct patient care in a high acuity, high volume Emergency Department with over 75,000 patients/year
  • Pediatric Emergency Medicine experience - 10,000 visits/year
  • 400 Bed Tertiary Care Center
  • 24/7 Cardiac Cath Lab
  • Multi-Specialty Surgical Center
  • MICU/CCU/SICU
  • OB/GYN Services
  • EMS and and Ultrasound exposure with fellowship-trained faculty
  • Students will have the opportunity to work directly with the attending physician
  • Hands on experience with procedures such as central lines, intubations, lumbar punctures, suturing, etc.

Clerkship Specifics:

  • 14 eight-hour shifts per rotation
  • 2 days of protected time for 4-hour lecture series geared specifically toward medical students with simulated procedure labs
  • Mentorship from extremely talented and academically focused core faculty
  • SLOE’s available upon request
