Outreach event at the Garlic Rose in Cranford

Dr. Adriana Suarez-Ligon recently spoke to more than 30 women, including patients, potential patients and employees about how to prevent breast cancer. For many, the most important take-away was to get to know your body with self-examination. "You know your body best," said Dr. Suarez-Ligon. She stressed the importance of having mammograms either annually or bi-annually (according to your status), and the need to examine yourself often to get a sense of what "normal" means for you. Don’t hesitate to see a doctor about even the slightest abnormality you may feel, whether or not you also feel pain in the questionable area.
