Nov 7, 2019 RWJUH Somerset Receives Ninth "A" Hospital Safety Score

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Score – the highest patient safety rating - fromThe Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization. It is the hospital’s third consecutive “A” rating and ninth overall.

Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset has also been recognized by U.S. News Report as one of the top hospitals in New Jersey and the New York Metro region and was rated “high performing” in orthopedics, hip replacement, colon cancer surgery and congestive heart failure. In addition, the hospital was recently named to HealthCare’s “Most Wired” list by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME).
