Trinitas Regional Medical Center EMS was awarded the 2019 Mobile Healthcare Program of the Year Award at the 20th Annual EMS Awards Program on Friday, November 15, 2019 during the National Conference on EMS in Atlantic City NJ. Dr. Raffee Matossian, EMS Medical Director, accepted the award from Deputy Commissioner of Health Christopher Neuwirth.

Trinitas Regional Medical Center has operated a Mobile intensive Care Unit since 1994. This is the 25th Anniversary of this EMS Agency. Since the inception of that program, Trinitas EMS has grown from being a single MICU to operating three MICUs completing more than 3,500 ALS calls per year, a busy ambulance services and dispatch center, transporting more than 7,500 transports per year, providing paramedic coverage for the Union County SWAT team and operating a Specialty Care Transport Unit (SCTU) that regularly transports ventilator dependent renal failure patients, who are extremely medical frail. Trinitas EMS also operates a training center that provides EMT and EMT refresher programs, an annual Emergency Care Symposium, attended by more than 200 individuals, and an American Heart Association Training Center that provides CPR, ACLS and PALS courses.

In January 2018 Trinitas assumed the administrative role overseeing the Union College Paramedic Training Program in Plainfield NJ and since that time has doubled the enrollment of the program.

Trinitas EMS has a staff of 80 consisting of EMTs, Paramedics, Registered Nurses, Medical Communicators and Instructors. Trinitas EMS provides the residents of Elizabeth, NJ and Union County with state-of-the-art medical care and quality medical education.
