May 15, 2019 Jersey City Medical Center Earns 14th "A" Patient Safety Rating

Leapfrog Spring 2019 LogoJersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, has earned an “A” Hospital Safety Score – the highest patient safety rating - from The Leapfrog Group, an independent hospital watchdog organization. The latest scores is a significant moment for the hospital, marking the hospital’s 14th A-rating.

“This recognition is a testament to the tremendous team efforts of our entire staff, who work together to deliver our patients premier care,” said Michael Prilutsky, President and Chief Executive Officer, Jersey City Medical Center. “We are committed to achieving the highest levels of quality in both care and education at Jersey City Medical Center.”

Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.
