Jul 10, 2019 Seven Physicians Graduate from Family Medicine Residency Program

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, recently celebrated the graduation of seven physicians from its Family Medicine Residency Program.

Members of the Class of 2019 include:

  • Omar Ziad Aiyash, MD, of Somerset, who was Chief Resident and received the Carl F. Meier, MD Award. Dr. Aiyash is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados and will be joining a practice in Illinois.
  • Jimmette Naytwain Brooks, MD, of Bridgewater, who was Chief Resident. Dr. Brooks is a graduate of St. Georges School of Medicine in Grenada and will be completing a surgical obstetrical fellowship in Memphis, Tennessee.
  • Daniel Gonzalez, MD, of Somerville, who received the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine Residents’ Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Gonzalez is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados and will be completing a sports medicine fellowship in Georgia.
  • Andrew Marino, MD, of Bound Brook, who received the Clinical Excellence Award. Dr. Marino is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados and will be joining a private practice in Red Bank.
  • Nitasha Sharma, MD, of Somerset. Dr. Sharma is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine in Barbados and will be obtaining her medical license to practice in London, England.
  • Isaac Sinai, MD, of Somerset. Dr. Sinai is a graduate of American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten and will be joining a practice in California.
  • Olivia Sorial, MD, of Bridgewater. Dr. Sorial is a graduate of St. Georges School of Medicine in Grenada and will be completing a geriatric fellowship at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health in New Brunswick.

During the ceremony, the graduating class presented its Teacher of the Year Awards to Eric Brezina, DO and Hitesh Patel, MD.
