West Orange, NJ, [July 1, 2019] – RWJBarnabas Health (RWJBH), the most comprehensive health care delivery system in New Jersey, announces an expansion of its partnership with Zocdoc, the leading digital health platform that enables patients to find doctors and instantly book appointments online. Under this partnership expansion, RWJBH plans to more than double the number of providers participating in Zocdoc's platform.
As part of its efforts to improve patients’ access to care, RWJBH has partnered with Zocdoc since 2016 to help patients find and digitally schedule appointments with participating RWJBH physicians. Additionally, while national wait times for patients to see a primary care doctor exceed three weeks on average when booked over the phone, more than one in three appointments booked with RWJBarnabas Health via Zocdoc takes place within just 72 hours.
Recently, Zocdoc updated its pricing model in New Jersey with the goal of lowering the barrier to entry so more physicians can participate in its marketplace. This new pricing model has afforded RWJBH the ability to add providers onto Zocdoc’s marketplace, across numerous specialties and locations throughout New Jersey, dramatically improving choice and access to care for New Jersey residents.
