Jul 1, 2019 Feeling Tired on the Job

You're on the job, and you're tired. You chalk it up to the demands of your job, but other people you work with look energetic while you're feeling run down and haggard. You work at a computer for most of the day, and you think it's fatigue caused by eyestrain. You drive long distances to and from work, and you think it could be making you tired when you get to work.

Believe it or not, the root cause of your lethargic behavior could be a sleep disorder.

It's not just what you do during that day that can be making you feel sleepy, it can also be sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia or another recognized sleep disorder that is taking the wind out of your sails. Concentration slips, your ability to focus is impaired and, worst of all, you could actually fall asleep on the job.

The Sleep Disorders Center at Trinitas Regional Medical Center was created to address your problem, find the cause of it, and help you overcome what's bothering you.

There are people who work at computers all day long and don't nod off to sleep in the middle of preparing a report. There are people who drive all day long and don't fall asleep at the wheel. How can they do it while you can nott?

You came to this web site because you need help. You need professionals who are trained in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders to help you determine what can be done to help you and get you on track.

It may require an overnight sleep study. We'll need to collect a lot of information from you about your diet, medical history, daily habits and, of course, your sleep patterns.

We'll perform a comprehensive analysis of the information you provide and the results of the tests we may perform and, once it's all reviewed, we'll make a list of recommendations for you, or your physician, or your company doctor, if that's what is required.

The end result is that we'll take the bull by the horns and steer you toward the advice, the equipment and the alternatives best suited to your sleep disorder.

We look forward to hearing from you, and helping you be at your best while you're on the job.
