Jan 8, 2019 Daphne Oz Headlines Heart Month Event on Feb. 27

Daphne Oz, chef, best-selling cookbook author and Emmy Award-winning TV host, will headline Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset’s Heart Month event “Happy Cooking for Cardiovascular Health” on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Bridgewater Manor. Cost is $20 and includes dinner and a book. To register, call 888-724-7123.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset cardiologist Sharan Mahal, MD, of RWJPhysician Enterprise’s Cardio MD will help you to understand the various types of heart disease, causes of sudden cardiac arrest, the role of hypertension in heart attacks, risk factors, signs, diagnosis and treatments such as therapeutic hypothermia. Prevention strategies will also be provided.

During her keynote presentation, Oz will share tips for healthy and delicious timesaving meals that are easy to create and maximize your health and happiness.

As cohost of ABC’s lifestyle series The Chew for its first six seasons, Oz engaged viewers to see health and wellness as indulgence rather than deprivation with her delicious, wholesome recipes. Now as one of the cohosts of The Dish, a weekly series airing Wednesdays on The Dr. Oz Show, Oz and her foodie friends bring the latest in food news, family-friendly recipes, expert tricks, and Instagram-worthy indulgence to the small screen.

Oz, a Cliffside Park native, also hosts the successful podcast Mom Brain alongside her friend and fellow mom Hilaria Baldwin. Through candid conversations with guests including celebrity parents, childhood experts, entrepreneurs, fitness gurus, and health care practitioners, the duo are creating a digital “village” of happy parents raising happy, confident kids.

Oz is the author of The Dorm Room Diet, Relish, The Happy Cook, and she has a new release slated for early 2020 exploring her message of post-baby body positivity and wellness. She is the Chief Innovation Officer for Pure Spoon, an organic fresh baby food delivery service.

All those who attend the Feb. 27 event will receive a copy of Oz’s cookbook, The Happy Cook: 125 Recipes for Eating Every Day Like It’s the Weekend. A book signing will follow the presentation.
