Belleville, NJ – A special mass attended by several hundred guests was held on Friday, August 16th at Blessed Sacrament Church in Newark to celebrate the 10th Priestly Anniversary of Father Peter Iwuala. Immediately following the Mass, a reception in Father Peter’s honor was held at Sacred Heart Church in Irvington.

Father Peter is currently Resident Priest at Blessed Sacrament-St. Charles Borromeo Church in Newark. A priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey, Father Peter was first ordained on May 23, 2009.

Father Peter, a chaplain in Belleville at Clara Maass Medical Center, a facility of RWJBarnabas Health, has served as Parochial Vicar at the following Parishes: Our Lady of Peace in New Providence, St. Lucy’s Church in Newark, and Sacred Heart Parish in Bloomfield.

From Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut, Father Peter earned an undergraduate degree in Philosophy; and he earned a Master of Arts in Divinity and a Master of Arts in Systematic Theology from Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey.
