Nov 9, 2018 Jersey City Medical Center Receives National Recognition and its Thirteenth ‘A’ for Patient Safety

Jersey City, NJ– The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit health care ratings organization, announced that Jersey City Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, received an ‘A’ grade for quality and patient safety in its Fall 2018 reporting period. This marks the thirteenth time that the hospital has received the highest patient safety rating from the Leapfrog Group since 2012.

Nationally Recognized Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Developed under the guidance of a National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign the grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. The Hospital Safety Grade’s methodology is peer-reviewed and fully transparent, and the results are free to the public.
