Mar 28, 2018 Children's Specialized Hospital Foundation Welcomes Five New Trustees

In support of the largest pediatric rehabilitation health system in the United States, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation and its trustees work to ensure financial stability so the Hospital can continue to expertly care for children with complex medical needs. To that end, the Foundation is pleased to announce five new appointments to its board of trustees.

“The success of our Foundation is due in large part to the leadership, guidance and support of our trustees,” said Philip Salerno, lll, President and Chief Development Officer, Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation. “We look forward to working with our new trustees as they bring a breadth of knowledge and expertise to their new positions on our board.”

The new trustees are as follows:

  • George Destafney is the President, Central Region at OceanFirst Bank in Red Bank. Destafney is responsible for leading the bank’s initiatives in Central Jersey, which includes Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties along with lending services into Mercer County and the Philadelphia market. In addition to over 20 years of banking experience, Destafney also brings a long history of charitable work to the foundation board, serving on the boards of both the United Way Monmouth and Ocean County and Saint John Vianney High School.
  • Ananda Kanapathy is the Senior Director of Gas Field Operations – North at PSE&G, responsible for providing leadership and direction to approximately one thousand management and union associates as they provide safe and reliable Gas Distribution and Appliance Service installations and repairs to over one million customers. Kanapathy’s affiliation with the board continues the long standing relationship that Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation values with PSEG.
  • Ed McKenna is a founder of the law firm McKenna, DuPont, Higgins and Stone. His extensive experience in public service, most notably Mayor of Red Bank, NJ from 1995-2007, and many years of charitable work, including a lengthy term on the Board of Directors of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Trenton which will be a valuable asset on the foundation board.
  • Donald Pearl is the Vice President of U.S. Sales and Marketing in the neurosciences business unit of IPSEN Biopharmaceuticals in Basking Ridge, NJ. He is responsible for building the neuroscience commercial structure in North America. The foundation looks forward to drawing on Pearl’s extensive marketing experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
