Lakewood, N.J. – At the recent Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus (MMCSC) Humanitarian Gala, 330 guests were treated to “the Greatest Show on Earth,” as old world circus was the theme of the annual hospital fund-raiser.

Held June 2 at Eagle Oaks Country Club in Farmingdale, the event provided an evening of Big Top favorites including a ringmaster, acrobats, illusionists, fire breathers and fortune tellers.

The annual gala raises funds that benefit Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, and the programs and services it provides to the local community. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge individuals who provide crucial support to the hospital though the presentation of the annual MMCSC Foundation Humanitarian Awards.

Honored this year were Rajesh Mohan, M.D., an interventional cardiologist who has been on staff at Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, since 2005 and currently serves as the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer, nephrologist Jose Iglesias, DO, a devoted member of the Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus Medical Staff since 1999 and AcuteCare Health System (ACHS) of Lakewood and its chief executive officer Violeta Peters. ACHS currently operates a 50-bed LTACH within Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus under the name “The Specialty Hospital of Central Jersey.”
