Apr 10, 2018 Miss America 2018 Cara Mund Visits Patients and Families at Children's Specialized Hospital

Miss America 2018 Cara Mund, the National Goodwill Ambassador for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals visited patients and families at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey on April 7, 2018. Mund’s visit was a part of a larger national campaign, Miss America Serves, which invites titleholders and volunteers across the country in a national day of service while helping raise funds and awareness for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Miss America Scholarships.

“These children are going through the toughest time in their lives,” said Cara Mund, Miss America 2018. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to visit and brighten the day for these children and help to raise awareness about the life-saving treatments and rehabilitative care provided by Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, including Children’s Specialized.”

Since 1989, Miss America has supported Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, helping with fundraising and visiting hospitalized children. Through the official partnership in 2007, the Miss America Organization has helped to raise more than $17 million in support of sick and injured children, as well as Miss America scholarships.

“Miss America brings such hope to our kids, as well as national awareness to the over 34,000 medically complex children we treat each year and the tremendous need for support," said Morgan Bocciolatt, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Program Manager.
