Welcome Kelly!

From the Desk of Kelly Koeller, MSW, LCSW, Therapist, Eating Disorders Program, Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Somerset.

I want to introduce myself as the newest member of the Eating Disorders Team! My name is Kelly Koeller, and I am extremely excited to be joining the Eating Disorders Program here at Robert Wood Johnson Somerset. I am very passionate about assisting clients as they navigate their journey through recovery. I believe that by providing a safe therapeutic space, we can work together to decrease suffering and create change.

My first introduction to working with Eating Disorders came during my undergraduate studies at Indiana University, Bloomington. At IU, I studied the correlation between leaving athletics and the development of Eating Disorders in adolescent girls under Dr. Alan Roberts. I found this experience to be extremely thought provoking, and I was excited about the opportunity to work with Eating Disorders in the future.

Following IU, I decided to earn my Masters in Social Work at New York University. This education has allowed me to pursue my passion further, providing clinical services to individuals with Eating Disorders.

More recently, I spent time providing individual, group, and family therapy to clients at Walden Behavioral Care’s Residential Treatment Program for Eating Disorders outside of Boston. During my employment at Walden, I had the privilege of working with many wonderful adolescent and adult clients.

I bring an eclectic approach to my work here at Robert Wood Johnson. Prior to my work at Walden, I worked and studied at the Karen Horney Clinic in New York City. At the Karen Horney Clinic, I provided individual psychotherapy informed by a psychodynamic perspective. I also earned a post-master’s certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at The American Institute for Psychoanalysis. I enjoy combining this perspective, with evidence-based practices that I utilized daily while at Walden, in my work with clients.

Thanks for letting me share a little about me with you! If you see me around, please say hello!
