In April, the RWJ University Hospital Foundation secured a $31,400 grant
from the Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey for the “Domestic Violence
and the Role of the Healthcare Provider” program coordinated by
our Community Health Promotion Program office. The grant will allow RWJUH
to train health care workers at hospitals in Newark to have the knowledge,
skills, and resources necessary to screen and provide services to abused
women. The program itself had received many accolades and is now expanding
across the country with a new program in Missouri and soon in Florida as well.
