The RWJ University Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that the
Blanche and Irving Laurie Foundation made a generous gift that will be
used to create a new Patient Technology Fund. As we all know, the integration
of technology to meet various health care needs is not only a savvy economical
choice, but it is also expected from our patients. We live in the digital
age, and we seek to keep on top of the latest technology trends and resources
available that improve workplace efficiency and enhance the quality of
care we provide to our patients. The new Skylight Navigator System is
an excellent example – this patient-driven communication system
allows patients to take direct control of their health information, further
reducing anxiety, encouraging ownership of one’s recovery, and overall
improving the continuity of care. The Laurie Foundation gift is the lead
gift in what we see as an emerging and ever changing need to incorporate
technology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.
