Advanced Surgical Oncology

Our surgical oncologists throughout the health system combine the expertise of fellowship-trained surgeons with advanced technologies to treat all benign and malignant tumors with complex surgical procedures including minimally invasive surgical techniques for both diagnostic and treatment purposes. Working closely with medical oncologists and radiation oncologists, our surgical oncologists work with patients one-on-one to optimize their plan of care and to address each patient’s unique health care needs.

Through our partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, patients have access to complex and specialized surgical procedures such as hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) to treat cancers that have spread to the abdominal cavity – a condition known as peritoneal metastases, as well as clinical trials, immunotherapy, and precision medicine.
