    Matthew Hanlon, MD, is a transplant surgeon with the Renal and Pancreas Transplant Division at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center. He joins Stuart R. Geffner, MD, Harry Sun, MD, and Matthew Rosenzweig, DO, with Associates in Transplant and General Surgery, and James Guarrera, MD, Grace Lee-Riddle, MD, and the transplant surgeons from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and University Hospital in Newark, NJ. Together, they form New Jersey’s largest and most experienced group of transplant surgeons, specializing in renal and pancreas transplantation, dialysis access, and general and advanced laparoscopic surgery.

    Prior to joining CBMC in 2023, Dr. Hanlon was the Assistant Professor of Transplant Surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. His responsibilities included oversight of the living donation and pediatric transplantation programs. He completed a fellowship in abdominal transplant and hepatopancreatobiliary surgery at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital and a five-year residency in general surgery at SUNY Upstate Medical University, after obtaining his medical degree from Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School.
